II BUSINESS GROUP ENDORSES DAVID CRUTCHER

17 CANDIDATES & GROWING SUPPORT DAVID CRUTCHER

The momentum for David Crutcher is growing! As the campaign approaches the final moments people are deciding to support David Crutcher in a very big way!

Aside from endorsements from groups like the Progressive Group for Independent Business (PGIB), the Calgary Merchants & Residents Association, the Freedom Radio Network and Concerned Christians Canada Inc. (CCC), David Crutcher is impressing the membership throughout Alberta. The ever growing number of former candidates pledging their support to David Crutcher as the hopeful new leader is clear evidence.

Scott Cowan of Cypress Medicine Hat said: "...David's serious approach has me on side" and Orest Werezak of Battle River Wainwright stated: "Crutcher's ability to raise money is comforting and one of the reasons that I am attracted to his leadership". Scott and Orest join their fellow candidates: Brad Berard, Diana Brooks, Cyril Collingwood, Dave France, Merle Terlesky, Shane Gervais, James Istvanffy, Vincent Jansen Vandoorh, Byron King, Mike Kuipers, Kenneth Mazeroll, Bil McGregor, Gordon Quantz, Charles Relland, Ryan Seto in their support of David Crutcher.

David Crutcher is ready to lead and his team keeps getting bigger! David has proven his leadership ability in this race.

BUSINESS GROUP ENDORSES DAVID CRUTCHER

Dear Alberta Alliance Party Members,

My name is Stephen Chapman the National President of the Progressive Group for Independent Business (PGIB), Calgary's largest business and taxpayer organization.

I am writing you today to let you know why our organization supports David Crutcher and will put all our weight, as an organization, behind the Alberta Alliance Party if David Crutcher becomes leader.

I have known David for four years and have seen his tireless support of our organization and his relentless pursuit of less government, lower taxes and political accountability.

From what I have seen in this race David's policies are the most business and taxpayer friendly. They reflect the values of both urban and rural Albertans. David's conservative policy agenda is second to none.

However, what impressed me the most about David and why the PGIB has been supporting him from the beginning is his 3M Campaign of Media, Man Power and Money.

Media - As the Provincial / Fundraising Chair of the PGIB David has established extensive media contacts throughout this province. During this campaign David has received media attention in every City that he has been in except one. The media gravitated to David because he is not doing a sales job, but is personable and sincerely believes in the party and where it can lead Albertans. David also has experienced professionals who have been involved in campaigns and media relations since 1989 and can take this party to the next level. Also the David Crutcher campaign has a modern state of the art communications system and communications personnel capable of getting the message out.

Manpower - As members of this party all of us have been exposed to the hard work of the David Crutcher campaign. The persistence of the Crutcher team is exactly what we need in the next provincial election. In this campaign David has held town hall meetings throughout the province, has a newsletter for his campaign and communicates with members via auto dialer, personal phone calls, e-mail and fax. David Crutcher also has his website updated almost daily.

The manpower behind the David Crutcher campaign is impressive and well trained. David Crutcher's 100% Albertan team is already in place and ready to train Alberta Alliance Party candidates and their entire campaign teams. The PGIB is dedicated to David Crutcher so much that we have provided our office, phone lines, fax lines, computers, E-mail system and voice auto dialer all without charge. We have also provided full time staff and 7 phone stations to the Crutcher campaign for his campaign team members. Whether it be demographic research, analysis of voting patterns, to effective opposition research David Crutcher has the manpower needed to run an effective campaign.

Money - Almost no one likes asking for money. When candidates decide to run for office, their vision is on the glamour of making speeches, winning debates, and cutting TV commercials. But communication wins elections and money is needed to get that communication out to voters. While financial underdogs do occasionally pull off upsets, money is the single most dominating factor in the vast majority of campaigns. In virtually every race that candidates have won, they have out spent their opponents.

Political campaigns and political fund raising are normally chaotic processes. Province wide, local, industry, special interest or peer group and employee fund raising committees bring order and structure to that process.

Success in raising money depends upon the ability to build an orderly program that asks certain people for specific dollar amounts in a particular way in a given period of time.

Because of David Crutcher’s service in PGIB as our Fundraising Chair, David has contacts that no other candidate has access to. Our organization is committed to David Crutcher and if he becomes leader we will help him bring in the hundreds of thousands of dollars needed in the next election. David is committed to having a minimum war chest of $20,000 in every riding that the Alberta Alliance Party runs a candidate.

David has proven in this nomination his creativity. You may have noticed that every newsletter has been sponsored by a company and that is because they have donated to David, be it a website, logo, literature etc. This is the type of leader the Alberta Alliance Party needs. You may have also noticed that David's most recent 4 page glossy brochure had advertising on it from a printing company. Minuteman Press Beltline donated the printing in this campaign completely free in exchange for an ad in the literature. With David Crutcher as leader of the Alberta Alliance there will be no shortage of opportunities for those who wish to help the party and money will not be in short supply. David never paid a dime for most of his campaign materials because the business community of Alberta believes in him.

David Crutcher is solid on policy and is a social and fiscal conservative, but what is going to get him and others elected under the Alberta Alliance Party banner is his 3 M Media, Manpower & Money plan that he will be expanding on at the Red Deer convention.

PGIB and I are proud to endorse David Crutcher and we are convinced under his leadership this party will grow from a debating society into a credible conservative alternative. David Crutcher is the reason that I joined the Alberta Alliance Party and he will be the reason why this party goes to the next level.

On your ballot I ask you to put a number 1 beside David Crutcher and send it in this weekend.

What schmuck operates all these organizations? You.

Basically, you are saying that you support Crutcher. Alert the news media!

Do they not have members? Who cares if Chandler operates them?

It provides the illusion of support without it actually being there. Fraudulent, basically.

So the 350 CCC members and the over 3,200 members is just an illusion?

A radio show that is well listened to is just an illusion?

Also I checked out the Calgary Merchants Association website and Chandler has nothing to do with them?

It seems that there is real support, but you are just anti-Chandler

350 CCC members? Where do you get this information from? And note that that is a Canadian organization, so that's basically 35 members worth of Albertans, even if your numbers aren't overinflated.

The over 3,200 members in WHAT?

Is this another one of your aliases Chandler?

You are an odd one and quite paranoid. PGIB has 3,200 members in Calgary alone, 6,500 Canada wide.

My name is Kevin Arnold and I live in Edmonton, Alberta.

Paranoid? I call it literacy, asshat. Read what you wrote. You didn't attribute the 3,200 members to any organization.

Note that Crutcher is on the board of the PGIB, so that's hardly surprising. Real support? Most sign up for better hotel rates.
